The GEESYS 25mm copper bonded earthing rod is selected where a larger diameter grounding rod is preferred for higher durability, strong current dissipation, and long service life in demanding industrial, utility, solar, and infrastructure installations. The rod is built to combine steel-core strength with reliable copper-bonded conductivity.

Introduction

GEESYS Copper bonded rods with nut and bolt terminal joints provides a firm area of contact for connecting earth strips. A good earthing system can only be achieved with a good contact, the stainless steel nut and bolt provided with the copper bonded rods will help achieve a good contact and also ensure resistance against galvanic/bi-metallic corrosion associated with it.

One of the prestigious products exclusively manufactured by GEESYS, in which the 99.9% pure electrolytic copper is molecularly bonded with steel rod which is nickel sealed is again coated with tin to give an extra layer of coating of 12 microns (as per IEC 62439) over the 100/250 microns’ copper bonding, which ensures total protection from galvanic corrosion. The same is ideal for sea shore areas and in areas with low soil resistivity.

FAQs

1.How should ground earth connections be made?

GEESYS recommends all connections driven to the earth electrodes should be made using exothermic welding techniques. And if it is cable to cable connections, we recommend the connectioins are to be made either by exothermic welding or compression joints

2.How is earthing size calculated?

For example if main incomer to breaker is 400A, then body earthing for panel can have a strip size of 25×6 mm which can easily carry 100A. Number of earth pits is decided by considering the total fault current to be dissipated to the ground in case of fault and the current that can be dissipated by each earth pit
