Electrical Panels
How to Select an Electrical Panel for a Factory
A factory often requires several panel types: main distribution, motor control, power factor correction and source transfer. Start with the function each assembly must perform.
Build a load schedule
List equipment input ratings, operating hours, simultaneous demand, starting method and future additions. Record utility and generator capacities, supply conditions and the proposed single-line diagram.
Specify safety and reliability
Establish fault levels, protection coordination, earthing, isolation, access and required continuity. Assess harmonics, motor starting, enclosure temperature and environmental exposure.
Review before manufacture
Approve drawings, feeder schedules, component ratings, control logic and cable interfaces. Request assembly verification and factory checks appropriate to the design, then plan installation and site commissioning with qualified personnel.
